Carmen Liseth Rodríguez (Panama/U.S.)

Carmen Liseth Rodríguez began her musical studies on piano at the age of 14, and double bass at the age of 16 at the Instituto Nacional de Música in Panama. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and her Bachelor’s in Double Bass Performance. During this time, she taught in several youth and children’s music programs across different provinces of Panama. She pursued her master’s degree at Louisiana State University, where she had the opportunity to work as a Teaching Artist at Kid’s Orchestra. After this, she returned to Panama and worked as a professor in the Instituto Nacional de Música, and currently is pursuing her DMA degree at Louisiana State University.
As an orchestral musician, Carmen was a member of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra in Louisiana. In Panama, she is a member and co-founder of the Orquesta de Cámara del Istmo, as an initiative to create more orchestral opportunities in the country. Also, Carmen was a member of the Orchestra of the Americas in 2017 and 2018.
