Emily Lin
Emily Lin is a rising senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High school and is the principal second violin at the Baton Rouge Magnet High Symphonic Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. She began musical training for violin and piano in the 3rd grade and has accomplished multiple performances and competitions, including winning the First Prize at the DeBose National Piano Competition. She is also the President of National Federation of Music Club (2021-2022). In addition to the piano and violin, she plays two other Chinese instruments: the erhu and guzheng. A fun fact about Emily is that she loves folding paper stars and taking pictures.
Nicole Lin
Nicole Lin is a junior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She plays multiple instruments such as the piano, flute, and cello. In school, she has participated in the band, talented music program, and symphonic orchestra. Furthermore, she has competed in local, state, and national piano competitions since the 3rd grade under the guidance of Chia-Ling Lien. Her awards include winning the First Prize at the 2020 LFMC Junior Piano Competition and 2019 Louisiana Music Teachers’ Association State Rally. Academically, Nicole is in the top 1% of her grade and is involved in many extracurricular clubs. She plans to major in engineering while continuing her passion for music.
